CELEBRATING MOVEMENT

Candice hosted our Strong Black Woman event, celebrating the importance of movement as a source of strength, healing and self-expression.
Since rediscovering the power of movement in 2023, Candice has completed a 500+ Peloton streak, run the London marathon, and finished a HYROX. With discipline and joy at the core of her routine, she shows how consistency transforms both body and mind, proving fitness is more than a routine, it’s a lifestyle.

As a black woman in the fitness space, Candice explains: “Not seeing yourself in an arena can show up as a barrier, both mentally because you’re like, ‘Is this even for me?’, and then physically, because you typically then don’t want to show up in the space.” Which is why events such as this are so powerful.

Candice hosted a panel talk at the event, exploring the physical and mental loads black women carry and how movement, community, self-care and joy can help share and lighten that load.
Candice was joined on the panel by radio host and broadcaster Julie Adenuga, fashion editor, broadcaster and content creator Nana, and Isa, an Oner Active Athlete and fitness coach.

Our Black History Month UK event brought together our community and industry peers for a special exploration of the Strong Black Woman
“I've noticed that the community of black women who are interested in fitness can’t get any more loving. It’s such a loving space. It’s such a supportive space.”
Race-day-ready fits

“Everyone typically expects a black woman to be strong. Strength and strong as it pertains to black women is overdone. I’d like to find a new word to replace ‘strong’ with.”
